Fry Club Colts U13 (1) v Shirehampton U13 (4)
27/04/06
This is the last game of
the season for the U13’s, and the second evening fixture they have played.
The Fry’s boy’s are up for
this game seeing they had suffered a 11 – 1 hammering in the away fixture
earlier in the season.
Fry’s were holding their
own and playing good football but slipped up in the 7th minute when a long ball
in was not held onto by Tom Ashley, in goal, and Shire fired in the lose ball.
1 – 0.
Shire carry on piling on
the pressure and narrowly miss scoring their second when they shave the bar
with a great shot in the 25th minute.
Fry’s seem to be a bit
disjointed and are struggling to string any moves together.
There is no communication
between the boys and are challenging each other at times for the ball.
Shire are a very strong and
physical team which at times is proving too much for Fry’s.
The first real chance that
Fry’s have of getting on the score sheet they are flagged offside.
Second half and things
remain the same until 20 minutes in and Fry’s win a free kick.
The scores are level when
Jack Baber fires in a fantastic shot to make it 1 –1.
Things look good for a 1 –
1 draw until 3 minutes before the final whistle when Shire score three further
goals in very quick succession to finish the game 4 – 1 up.
Not exactly the ideal end
to the season, but it has been a fantastic display from the boys throughout,
and they have given themselves justification to hold their heads high, and have
made all the parents proud of their efforts and achievement.
